The Claudia is made from the British Millerain's 'Driden' wax, a washable cotton that has the appearance, feel and function of much heavier heritage waxes.

Peregrine takes great pride in British manufacturing and with an increasing awareness of these limited resources we invite you to see the production process behind some of the garments at the Manchester knitwear factory.

The factory produces around 50,000 garments a year, under both under Peregine and Private label; with 80% of the product being exported overseas. The UK market is still very important and somewhere the brand wishes to grow by increasing awareness and giving customers the opportunity to see where and how their jumpers are made.

About a year ago the Peregrine design team were selecting colours to take forward into the new collection and now here we are presenting the new range, how time flies! Selecting the colours to go into production involves analysing colour trends and fashion forecasts aswell as gaining extensive buyer and customer feedback. Swatch cards help to construct the concept for a new collection pairing the colour with the appropriate texture before the yarn is ordered and sampled, this year Peregrine have not only experimented with new colours but also the knit of the garment itself.

The Mens knitwear range is certainly brave, as it adopts bold shades of mustard yellow, electric blue and violet, while the ladies collection transides from classic neutral shades into coloured pastels of taupe green and ocean blue, both collections experiment with a range of cable, wave and textured knits in a variety of weights; inspiring and influencing ideas for a potential SS13 range.

Following the campaign 'Consider Uggie' this week, Uggie the canine co-star of The Artist adorned his 18-Carat Gold bow tie to accept the Best Picture Oscar alongside director Michel Hazanavicius and star Jean Dujardin.

While many have marvelled his dramatic skills, the canine star is now set to retire following his success in the film, with Director Michel Hazanavicius adding his film would "Never have been the same without the dog."

Now those of you who follow Peregrine and our events on a regualr basis will be aware of the newest recruit to join the Peregrine team last year, a cheeky, chirpy character ready to fly the flag for famed Jack Russells everywhere...move over dear Uggie, Baxter is the new hound set to shine.

While he admits his admin skills need time to grow, Baxter has certainly helped sales to soar as he sits in the Showroom window, passers-by really do come in and ask... "How much is that doggy in the window?"

Already demonstrating how to model luxury knitwear in the new AW Look Book, we can only hope in years to come that Baxter the Parsons Terrier will be accepting an International Fashion Award on behalf of the Brand... and of course at such an event this Peregrine pooch will be wearing his own (hand knitted) bow-tie in superb doggy fashion!

As London Fashion week is now upon us, Peregrine set off to exhibit the AW|12 collection at Moda.

Peregrine is showing predominantly Menswear, with a new selection of Harris tweed blazers, gilets, innovative wax jackets and stylish Merino wool knitwear, all in an array of bright colours. The show is a step up for Peregrine as buyers call for the brand to be shown in mid to high-end boutiques and Fashion stores within the UK, Europe and overseas as far as Japan and the US.

Made in England, Peregrine currently exports up to 70% of it's product overseas, but as an English heritage brand the call for original British production is at a high as more stockists become aware of the importance of British Design. Peregrine plan to take on more customers within the UK and overseas, spreading awareness of the brand amongst other iconic British lables.

Peregrine has recently been featured in the MWB (Menswear Buyer) magazine as an up and coming heritage brand and has now been branded by the editior as 'A name to remember' for 2012; featuring alongside Johnstons of Elgin, Farah 1920 and Seasalt, all who experiment with heritage design.

With the AW|12 trade season upon us, Peregrine has taken to the Skies to visit both new and existing customers slightly further a field than in the UK.

First stop saw Peregrine parading the streets of New York with the new sample jackets and knitwear, undergoing some extensive 'market research'  while being stopped in the streets by one Gentlemen and asked "Wow! Who is that jacket made by and where can I get it!?" The feeling surrounding the new range is becoming increasingly confident as we gain more and more feedbac k from customers and professionals, both inside and outside of the UK.

Following meetings in the US, the brand explored NY, taking inspiration from retail window displays as we plan our next 'Pop Up store' in London and also look to participate in an NY trade show in the next coming year to expand the Brand further overseas.

Talking to people in and around NY aswell as seeing the famous sights, the Peregrine story is greatly admired, as many people often agree a story sells a product just as much as the design itself. With New York itself being built upon a great Heritage, Peregrine appeared to blend in very well within its surroundings, yet still managed to turn a few heads every now and again!

Without giving away too much, the new range focuses on enhancing our strongest styles, continuing to produce handcrafted tailoring and British styling that followers have come to know and love over the last 50 years. Peregrine introduces even brigher colours including bold Yellows and Reds similar to that NY's yellow taxi cab and the Red London Bus; strong wax quilted patches and soft textured Merino knits create a range that is not only classical but also more stylish than ever before.

So here's to re-visiting New York next year with even more stories to tell!

With the cold weather well and truely here to stay, chilly offices and the countdown to Christmas distracting us from work, we'd like to introduce a few of our newer London Stockists which may be worth visiting on your travels to and from the office, or over the forthcoming holidays.

Throughout November and December we have been delighted to stock a new store '123 Bethnal Green' nr Brick Lane. The 123 Boutique Store is a favoured destination today for those seeking innovative fashions by new British designers, with the newly restored Victorian building that boasts the same rich heritage as Peregrine, we couldn't be happier 123 found us when they did.

An interesting feature to the boutique store which separates 123 from other East London surroundings is the two week 'Disappearing Dining Club' concept that currently features within the grade II Listed building, 'Too Much is Never enough' combines gifts and fashion with a restaurant atmosphere, serving different courses upon dfferent floors of the 123 building space while offering 10% off of all boutique purchases during the evening.

Just as we all begin travelling around visiting friends and family over the festive period; once again the British weather has other ideas in store for us. This morning whilst driving through hail stones that resembled white rocks falling furiously from the sky, I couldn't help but think back to a photo we once recieved from Topher- a friend and loyal supporter of the brand from the States.

Topher braved the elements during the storms of Hurricane Irene as she hit NY, taking the ultimate opportunity to show the extreme conditions his beloved antique wax TT jacket had been faced with.

Now with the weather forecasts predicting 100mph+ winds and many Towns and Cities across the UK already facing harder weather conditions, we wouldn't usually encourage our customers to risk their wellbeing, just to help us prove a point; but this light-hearted photo certainly showed that with a little help from Peregrine, Topher came out laughing, even if a little damp to say the least!

With the online discount day proving to be another huge sucess and our Christmas shopping evening bringing out the crowds for a a festive tipple, we sure do like to look after our customers!

The last few days have been slightly more sombre, heads down, as we press on with designs for the new A/W'12 collection and look to plan our next Look Book photoshoot! Let me tell you now, there are some beautiful design ideas set to emerge from Peregrine in 2012.

The halls are decked in the showroom as tonight we look forward to some carol singing along Alma Vale Road and late night shopping until 8pm, we hope some will brave the elements to come and enjoy the festivities with us, snaps to follow!

Yesterday kickstarted the week with the opening of our new Pop Up store in London, working alongside Sheridan & Co Retail Design.

The Pop up store features the current Peregrine A/W 11 collection, the design concept is based around the Brand's heritage and it's handcrafted British styling alongside the contemporary fashion influence that surrounds today.

Within the first few hours of being on display the store had already intrigued many passers by, we are inviting people to visit the store, see the range and learn about Peregrine.

Also inside the Pop up store are a few initial sample ideas from the new A/W12 collection- which is always worth a peek.
